Metro Stuff

Metro came to be in the late 60’s. It started with a few shows at conventions, sportsman’s dinners and trade shows. By the early 70’s Metro had started doing TV ads for various local businesses and then by chance in a radio station studio, recorded THE 11 DAYS FROM XMAS. The calls flooded the radio stations that had a taped copy of the song. After some investigation it was decided to do a complete album of Christmas classics. Sales exceeded all projections. The following year, with distribution improvements, the albums sales rocketed past the GOLD RECORD status.

Metro has traveled from Victoria on the West coast to Northern Manitoba. He has appeared on National TV and various fund raising charity events. In the late 70’s, Metro was asked to be a part of the Canadian Armed Forces Christmas show that appeared in Edmonton, Germany, Cypress, Israel and Egypt. This 6 week tour was part of the Canadian Peace keeping contingent in Europe and the United Nations. Upon returning to Canada, Metro started working on material for the METRO GOES COUNTRY..... Album. It was released later that year and sales of this album exceeded all expectations and projections as well.
METRO LIVE was done on a -30 below stormy February night for the Melfort Saskatchewan Kinsmen. This was part of their Telemiracle donation. Considering the temperature that night, over 350 folks braved the elements to listen to Metro and Jake do their thing. Metro and Jake's long time Manager, Les Pavelick is now residing in Saskatchewan where we understand he likes to fish, make bird houses and is a proud Rider fan. Boy now that’s entertainment.

Metro added one more gem to his collection .......in 08... ‘Metro’s Next to Last Xmas Album’ which received a great response and even radio play. The real exciting part was that this album has helped raise over $35,000 for various charities in the Saskatchewan thank to our loyal fans. We really appreciate all your support. 

So here we are again.....

2009 was a fun year for THEMET. ......METROS RURAL AND WASTURN ALBUM....CD was released and is it a gooder as JAKE says....we have such hits as HOT TUB REFUGEE.....ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT .......and Who can forget ....IF MY NOSE WAS RUNNIN MONEY ....I'D BLOW IT ALL ON YOU......

When we finished the new CD ....we started on METROS....first dee wee dee or wideeoh as he calls it.....
METRO UNPLUGGED......This video is around 1 hour and 15 minutes of baffonery and will make you chuckle and some have said they even laughed......so its a first and was a hoot to do.....
